Canadian Concept – Egyptian Roots
Chapter 11 - "!بداية الغيث قطرة"
A widely used proverb in the Arab world translated literally says,
"Rain starts with a single drop."
While rain might be a sign of a bad day to Canadians, some other parts of the world pray for having rainy days. For some of us, rain is not only their water supply resource. It's a symbol of flourishing, prosperity, and answered prayers.
This proverb comforts the weary and assures them that their prayers for rain will be answered. Rain starts with a single drop; when a drop of rain falls, the rain shower follows. A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step.
These were the words that comforted us every time we hit new milestones or get good news.
Sometimes we enjoy the moment just as it is, while all dreams and plans are temporarily laid to rest for a while. In these moments, we're hopeful we find the way out and be unstoppable. At other times, we hit the ground running, going after whatever makes us get all of this mess, at whatever cost.
