Chapter 16 - Christmas 2021

Yet again, we missed another deadline. This has happened many times while setting up our business.

Being “rookie entrepreneurs” got the best of us.

A task seemed simple, and when we got to work, new challenges surfaced. Apparently, it wasn't as simple as we thought. For example, we thought the solution to clear, beautiful photos for our website and social media was a professional camera. After we procured it, then the challenge of setting it up and using it professionally uncovers itself. Then there's this part when getting the latest version of Adobe Photoshop seemed like the solution until we found out learning to use it for editing was a greater concern.

One of the main goals of our business model is taking care of our environment. This affected a lot of plans packaging-wise in terms of cost and sourcing for the best eco-friendly suppliers. We didn't let this deter our commitments to sustainability. And yes, we have disclosed our suppliers, so it can be easier for you to achieve your eco-friendly goals in your own business.

Many times, things look easy, and when we get working, a whole new challenge surface. We encountered this at many points; one of those moments was during our business registration. A lot of research went into my hunt for the cost, the necessity of this procedure, and where we would process it.

The lesson we learned was, it's okay to miss deadlines as long as it's not because you're slacking on the job. And most importantly to know how to set realistic deadlines.
