Tannoura Dancer Earrings

Tannoura is an Egyptian folk musical show and a traditional dance in Egypt. ‘Tannoura’ in Arabic means skirt, and refers to the fluffy weighted layer of multi-coloured skirts worn by the dancer who also wears trousers below and usually a white skullcap. The dance is performed by spinning one's body in repetitive counterclockwise circles, which has been seen as a symbolic imitation of planets in the solar system orbiting the sun.

Only men perform Tannoura dance in Egypt. The dancer spins from 15 minutes to several hours, and wears 1-3 skirts when dancing. One skirt weigh at least 10 kg or more!
