Chapter 8 - The Budget

This is where dreams start to conflict with how much money you have. The budget is less than the business needs, now what?

Well, this is not a new challenge in business world. Even multi-million companies go through! It's not only about how much you need or how much you have. It’s about how are you going to spend what you have. Sadly, it is not as simple as it sounds. But for us, the solution was flex, adjust and save.

The budget dilemma first surfaced as a critical issue when we realized we couldn’t manufacture our brand of Egyptian Cotton shirts. Suppliers we contacted required minimum order quantities that we couldn't afford. Flexing the idea to get branded products with or without minimum quantities was a possible option. This meant that we would be able to source from different brands/products rather than spend a fortune manufacturing various colours of shirts. 

Fortunately for us, it was even a better alternative the scarcity of funds availed us.

The flexibility in the concept was a gift from scarcity!

Now it’s about selecting our catalog items and excitingly saving for our first shipment.
