Crepe Chiffon
A very light see-through fabric; chiffon is usually made with a loose plain weave and tightly twisted single 'crepe' yarns in both warp and weft. Therefore, it is sometimes called Crepe Chiffon.
Crepe fabric is named after the French word for “crimped”.
Chiffon fabric can be woven from natural fibres, like silk or cotton, or man-made fibres, like polyester or viscose.
This fabric gives you a slimming appearance and has a graceful drape. Highly suited for party events, formal and special occasion dresses, scarves, nightgowns, and linings. However, crepe fabrics are also preferred for daily wear because they require little to no-ironing and are very soft and comfortable. It doesn't wrinkle easily, and when it does, you won't notice them quite so much because crepe naturally has a somewhat crinkled surface.
Care instructions:
Chiffon is a very lightweight, thin and delicate fabric to clean. Hand washing with cold water using a mild detergent is always the best and safest method for washing chiffon.
Lay the item flat in its natural shape on a drying rack or hang to dry.
It's easy for this fabric to lose its shape when wet. It can stretch or shrink, so avoid putting it into the washing machine. Do not wring nor put it in the dryer as heat can dull the fabric's finish.
