Language
Arabic is the official language of Egypt. Classical Arabic is the written language; It is used for conducting official business. Colloquial (informal) Egyptian Arabic is the spoken language of the street. Both forms (classic and colloquial Arabic) are used by the media, business transactions, and schools.
Egypt's prominent television and film industries are also heavily influenced by Egyptian Arabic. Songs, folk literature, and poetry are further examples of their widespread use.
Sports
Soccer is the most prominent sport in Egypt. The Egyptian national football team called the "Pharaohs" took home the African Cup of Nations seven times, including a three-peat performance in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Soccer remains the favourite sport of most Egyptians, tennis and squash are among the other sports. Swimming is also a popular because of the mild weather, Egyptian long distance swimmers were popular for their ability to swim across the English Channels.
It is also worth mentioning that the Egyptian handball team is one of the finest handball teams in Africa. They are the first non-European team to reach the semifinals in the World Championships and become among the top eight teams in the world in the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship. And the first African team to reach the semifinals in the Olympic Tournament.
